Over two thousand visitors flocked to Coventry on 25th and 26th January for the two-day PPExpo 2017 event which took place at the prestigious Ricoh Arena. The show, hosted by Customer Focus and which was running for its eleventh year, was ideally placed at the start of the year to set up suppliers and distributors alike for a prosperous twelve months to follow.
A fascinating range of new and innovative products were on display from the 200+ exhibitors, including Oldeani’s range of Pokkit USB plugs which fold flat to only 18mm, Crystal Galleries’ ingenious new acrystalic awards which combine the heft of glass awards with the economy of acrylic ones, and Reeve Calendars’ marvellous 3-D calendars, enabling you to view beautiful panoramas through your smartphone and a headset.
Exhibitors had also been highly creative and generous in their offers and competitions. Twelve members of the Briman Group were exhibiting, so they set up a treasure hunt; follow their treasure maps, visit all their stands collecting a special coloured token from each, and claim some pirate booty from where X marked the spot (or Great Central Plastics’ stand, in other words). There was also a draw for a stay in Brighton’s luxury Grand Hotel courtesy of Premier Impressions, an Amazon Echo up for grabs from the Laltex Group, and much more besides.
The show also showcased the Industry Insiders speaker programme – a series of 30-minute talks from a number of industry leaders. Diane Anderton from SPS, husband and wife David and Cathy Houston from Delta Marketing, Gellan Watt, Ajay Desai, John Heffernan and Customer Focus’ own Deborah Wilkinson spoke about a host of industry topics from British manufacturers to inbound marketing. Martin Varley also took to the stage to announce the relaunch of the show for 2018 as Resellex.
Over 700 suppliers and distributors also let down their hair at the PPD promo party, which was held on the evening of the first day. Embracing the setting of the Ricoh Arena’s Grosvenor casino, it ran with a Vegas theme, beginning with a fun dress-up photoshoot. Guests played live and just-for-fun casino games throughout the night and partied with magicians, cocktail flairers, show girls and a live set from The Hot Jazz Biscuits.
“I wanted to personally thank everybody at PPExpo for all their hard work in setting up and organising such a popular event,” said Rob Pease, director of Synergy Display. “We are already looking forward to next year’s show!”
In 2018, PPExpo will be replaced by an exciting new show: Resellex, which will run from 14-16 January.
The new event will see a number of additions to the old PPExpo format. Extending to a three-day event will enable Resellex to feature a world-class conference, featuring the best speakers including leading academics, those at the forefront of technology and business, marketers, cultural icons and influencers and key global leaders from a range of backgrounds.
Back in the exhibition hall there are also plans afoot to welcome additional resellers of personalised products on day 1, giving our exhibitors increased sales opportunities. Day 2 is aimed at our core promotional product distributors, whilst day 3 is the conference day which will centre around a series of talks from the very biggest and brightest speakers from across the entire industry. It will also give those promo distributors the opportunity to invite their end buyers.
Resellex, The Reseller Expo, is the complete event, playing host to everything a personalised product reseller wants to see: the best products, services, technologies, marketing tools and business supply partners.
Join thousands of Europe’s reseller community as they meet, discover, launch, amaze and share at Resellex, 14 – 16 January 2018.
The full Resellex website will be launched Spring 2017.
